French Flower takes you to the headspace that is thousands of French tuberose flowers in a field at night, the lingering warmth of the sun coaxing the flowers to relax and release their heady, intoxicating scent in one long sigh. Featuring both tuberose absolutes and an enfleurage of tuberose from flowers grown organically by Matière Premiere itself, French Flower puts its money when its mouth is. This is full-figured, lush tuberose perfume that doesn’t stint on the quality or quantity of tuberose.

It is also, refreshingly, a tuberose perfume that is unafraid to be anything other than what it is - a full-on, fleshy explosion of quivering white floral sensuality. A touch of Nigerian ginger adds a powdery, pallid spiciness to the candied sweetness of the tuberose but doesn’t even attempt to hem it in. There are hints also of Chinese tea leaf and pear to send a thread of bitterness or greenery running through all that buttery voluptuousness. A woody, almost aquatic musk adds a cooling tinge of freshness and expansion around the edges. But mostly it is all about Queen Tuberose.
